Jimmy’s body lurched.

“Jimmy!” wailed John.

The emergency physician yelled, “Clear!” and slammed the paddles home again. Jimmy pitched upwards.

JohnMaggie shrieked.

“Get them outta here!” the doctor commanded. “STAT!”

“NO!” roared John. “Please, don’t. Don’t!” He pushed away the nurse. “He needs me.”

“He’s in good hands, John,” Susan said softly, moving beside him. “Come. Give the doctors room to save him.”
