“…bring you an important announcement,” an excited voice said. “Here’s Chet Sparrow with the details.”

“What’s happening?” Jimmy whispered from his bed.

Pleased and relieved that Jimmy had recovered sufficiently from his latest attack to be interested, John punched up the television’s volume.

The deep voice boomed, “...an amazing phenomenon from the West Coast. Virginia, can you hear me?”

“Yes, I’m here, Chet.”

John stared at the screen.

“You’ve made an astonishing discovery, Virginia, and on Holy Thursday, of all days.”
