Chapter 24
Maundy Thursday, April 1, 6:01 a.m. Passion Ministry
Virginia gave up on sleep and wandered outside. The compound was quiet and a light morning mist hugged the tree line. She was antsy, excited and scared. Couldn’t believe what had happened to her.
She dropped onto a bench, mind whirling. Inevitably, they returned to her bizarre experience with Brendan and Harry. She touched her throat and adjusted the colorful scarf which hid the bruise. Harry had actually turned blue. When she had asked him about it later, he had laughed and replied, “Fear’s a powerful drug.”
Now, watching an early bird catch a worm, she said aloud, “Should be pleased with yourself, Gina. Got lots of video, audio and who knows? Maybe the story of a lifetime.”
That was the amazing thing. If what Harry told her was remotely true, to heck with the Interview. The world would be slavering at her feet. Why else had God chosen her to receive John’s miraculous touch? Man, if the old folks could see me now.
She put aside thoughts about how her revelations would affect the Ministry. “Just one problem,” she told the robin. “A bit of proof.” It had almost killed her to stay overnight to get it. The temptation to see if Perry would bite without proof was intense.
You can do it. After all, you’ve been blessed by an apostle!
As the sun emerged, Gina, soon to be The Virginia Darrow, knew what she had to do.
