8:28 p.m. Passion Ministry

Harry shuddered. Shook off the memory and took a deep breath. Each visit took its toll, as though he were an onion whose vital layers were being peeled away. One by one. Didn’t bear thinking about what would happen when his core was finally exposed.

The specter could only enter him when he was conscious. No choice, Harry. No choice in hell.

Better to offer than be taken. He drained his consciousness.

Instantly he was pierced. Suspended over the bed, twisting in agony. Brain swollen with noise.

A shadow encased him. “Ah...so you’ve been successful. Excellent. I’m so pleased, I’m going to endow you again. No longer will you be merely a watcher.”

Searing pain exploded along Harry’s arms. His mouth opened. Voiceless.

“No, my little trader, you will destroy him but...”

Harry’s stomach heave. He was upside down.

“NO ONE will suspect you or me. NO ONE. You will choose an envoy—”

Rachel’s face exploded into his mind.

“Grant her my gift so that we may triumph and you may have your eternal reward.”
