Chapter 15
Holy Monday, March 29, 3:07 p.m. Passion Ministry
The Apostle never partied after a concert. Too drained from the effort of performing and chatting with fans, John always returned to his quarters to be with family.
His staff did their own thing, saving comments and suggestions until the next day.
After showering, John slowly dressed while enjoying watching bits of family videos that Maggie had just compiled. The footage was rough and amateurish, but that didn’t matter. Maggie just wanted to give Jimmy more experience in front of the camera, something he would need in the future.
Half an hour later, John was sitting with Maggie in their living room. “How about we all sneak out of here tonight after the Welcome and head for Andy’s cottage?”
Maggie’s eyes widened in surprise. “Darling, I’d love to but why now? You’ve got a full week of counseling…is there something wrong?”
“No, no,” John hastened to reply. “Just tired and we haven’t spent much time together.” He stroked her cheek. “I miss you. Jimmy’s feeling better. I thought we could have some family time, just the three of us.”
“Sounds heavenly.” Maggie laughed lightly. “Can’t imagine what Phil will say.”
“Don’t worry about Phil. He can cope for a couple of days.” John leaned closer and kissed Maggie gently. “After all, I am the boss.”
